TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate number 01 Joko “Jokowi” Widodo introduced creative campaigns to the public on the first day of the open campaign. Jokowi and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin would contact eligible voters through a phone call and use hologram technology for their campaign.
Ma'ruf Amin introduced the hologram technology that is displaying three-dimensional images of Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin in Lebak, Banten, on Monday, March 25.
“This hologram is made by Indonesians and will start to be aired tonight,” said Ma'ruf in a written statement on Monday, adding that the technology will roam around the country’s regions.

The Jokowi - Ma'ruf campaign team head, Erick Thohir, said that the hologram will be installed on a movable platform which is transported by a truck that can be opened and closed quickly within few hours and can be moved to another location.
During the open campaign period, the technology will show Jokowi and Ma'ruf Amin calling on people to fight against defamation, hoax or false news. The incumbent candidate will also explain several programs previously issued, such as the Affordable Staple Foods Card, the Pre-Employment Card, and Indonesian Smart Card for University Students (KIP Kuliah).
